For this week's Khairul Aming-inspired menu, I'm excited to introduce one of Malaysia's beloved foods: Roti Puri Cicah Sardin , or, in English, Puri with Sardine Dip. The crispy fried puri (Indian flatbread) is served with a tasty sardine dip, prepared from canned sardines in tomato sauce blended with sautéed onions, chilli, and occasionally potatoes. Although puri originated in India, this Malay innovation with sardine dip is now a local favourite, enjoyed especially at tea time or for breakfast.
